Prelim

We chose to do 'Rockstar' by 'Nickelback' for our prelim as the shots in the music video are interesting but feasible to re-create. The video provided use with the chance to practise our lip syncing as majority of the shots focus on this element. As well as looking at a range of shot types and angles.

If we have learnt from doing the prelim is that lip syncing is harder than we anticipated and shots need to be thought out more thoroughly in order for then to look good. For instance looking for symmetry or rule of thirds in the framing and appropriate backdrops for the individual shots.

The gate shots stood out as unfinished as the shot wasn't and the brick either side of the shot was uneven. The figures too were not centred and this is something we would need to think out and frame right to achieve our goal.

Other shots we would need to improve include shots were people are cut off or blurry. Also in some shots the lighting differs, therefore we wold need to think about the lighting and decide if it fits in with the genre of music.
