Editing

Laura and I did some editing recently and found editing to the beat of the music to be specifically difficult, as well as cutting out a minute of the instrumental, making sure it still flowed smoothly. Here is us editing:

 

To differentiate between the representations of our protagonist we used black and white colouring and the 'romantic' filter for the past, we increased the contrast for 'the dead' scenes and kept the footage normal for the present:

 



Editing

Here Laura took a photo of our group editing the footage from Trent Park on IMovie. Everything so far is as we hoped and is working much better than our previous footage, however we feel we may need to go back and film some more and include one other location to add more interest than just tree and greenery footage.

Trent Park

During the Christmas break we travelled to Trent Park to film for our music video. Here are some shots of us at location and setting up:

 

We chose to use an outdoors location as the natural lighting and harsh contract between the sunlight and the dark trees added to our concept of death and mystery.

Painting

Shaileyee and I recently did the painting that we would be using in our music video. It took 2 hours to paint and we filmed the entire thing, although we will not incorporate the whole process in our final music video, with all the process filmed we can now take what we like most.

Here I have used all the footage and time lapsed as well as used stop motion editing, so that the entire process can be seen and also so that elements can be selected that we like, for our final music video. The painting is of a couple walking through a park/forest setting, and by the end the painting is ruined, this is to symbolise the destruction of the couples relationship as time goes by.

Intro

Here we were inspired by the Kickstart video to try low angle close up shots of the protagonists feet tapping to the beat of the music for our opening.
